It Saved Me No Time

The last time this happened to me was when I was on my mission, in 1977, and we didn't watch TV or listen to the radio so we didn't know/remember.

My companion and I showed up at the church building for a meeting and nobody was there and we couldn't figure out what was going on.

When I realized I had just missed out on an extra hour of sleep I was pretty sad.

There was nothing for my companion and I to do except hang around the church.

I muttered to myself a lot that day.

Now, 33 years later, I'm up to my old tricks.

After driving home in the wee hours of the morning from the Land of Many Stores and Adventures * thankfully without hitting any deer or falling asleep (always a double risk in our world) * and trying to stay awake to do some needed preparations for my Sunday responsibilities today * and giving up because I was so exhausted * and figuring that I'd get 4 hours of sleep and that would have to do and I could take a nap after church * and dragging myself out of bed at 6:30 so I could get ready for a meeting at 7:50 this morning, for some reason I decided to check my mail on my computer (instead of doing some of those preparations I was too tired to do last night?) and I see that it is 6:30, not 7:30, and it all comes back to me:

I just gave away an hour of desperately needed sleep!!!!

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I was about to leave for the church building. I would have been there wondering where everyone was. It would have been 1977 all over again.

I have a head ache now. And I'm dizzy. And my eyes are watering. And I'm sad that I missed that hour of sleep.

It's funny how cheated I feel.
