This is why I write down our stories. I'm not as complete as this, but I do try to write down our stories. This could be called "scrapbooking", but I prefer to call it story-telling or memory-keeping.
Words + pictures. Powerful.

There is magic in the way one thinks. If we expect the worst, we will get the worst. If we expect the best, we will receive the best. If we train our minds to have faith in God and ourselves, we are using one of the great laws of life. If we think and live righteously, happiness will find its place in our lives. It is amazing when we expect the best how forces are set in motion which cause the best to materialize. From The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter

Oh Yipeeeeee!
I get to be the first! What can I say? I'm a Veteran non-journaler, to my faithful journaling friend. I am happy for those of you that do this. I say journalers are born, not made. I have some kids that do-with not example or admonitions from me--and some that do not. I lack the courage to have the opportunity to go over the bad times (again), but will surely regret not having access to the blur of possibly less memorable, but so very precious, good times. All I can say is, you go, Girl.
So true! I loved watching this. I remember this funeral I attended of a rather young man that died leaving several young adult children behind. But he left a room full of journals and I was touched by the son who said "We will miss Dad but because of his diligence in journal writing we will never be without him, his counsel, his wisdom or his love." He had lightened their grief by his thoughtfulness.
