Last August and September
we had a praying mantis hanging around our house.
There are certain members of our family
who are really freaked out by this bug.
If you are reading this, maybe you should stop now.
You know who you are.
So one day in September
Miss Abbie and I came home from something
and saw our pet praying mantis
hanging upside down from the whicker table on our porch
sucking out the brain and other soft parts
of a grasshopper's head
and then he snacked on the crunchy parts.
Yep. It was gross.
And all done whilst hanging upside-down.
Have a good day!

That was gastronomical! Well, they're supposed to be great for eating bugs you don't want around your garden--like grasshoppers! And now you know how it's done . . . We probably don't want to know how our chicken gets into it's package for us either.
