PolyEster, Babay

I am a natural fibers kind of gal.
100% cotton.
Linen.
Ramie.

And I don't mind ironing.
In fact, I rather enjoy it.
Which is good because natural fibers are always needing to be ironed.

When Del Rey and I take our trip to France
I don't want to be ironing.
At all.

So I have had to have a change of attitude.
I have had to welcome Polyester into my life.

I went shopping and bought
a whole bunch of 100% polyester clothes.
Clothes that I can roll up in a tight ball
and pack in my suitcase.
Clothes that I can wash at night
and let drip-dry while I sleep.
And they will never need to be ironed.

This is a pretty big deal for me.

Polyester.
Go figure.

Little Book-Big Implications

Monday a package came in the mail for me.
I had been expecting it.
I'm glad that it came.
It contained something that I haven't had for many years.
I haven't needed this for many years, actually.
But now I need it...

I have a passport again!
I can flee the country if I need to!
Oh. Wait.
This is one of those passports that has a chip.
They can find me wherever I flee.
So, I won't flee in a bad sort of way.
But I'll tell you where I AM going to go.
To this place:

(Sam and Nick, 2005)

Yes, I'm finally going to make it to Europe.
I've been all over North America.
I lived in Central America.
I've been to South America.
I lived on an island in the Pacific.
I've been to Hong Kong and Japan.
I just haven't been to Europe.

But Doug has.
And for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration
he's taking me to France.

He went there on his mission.
He took Nick and Sam in 2005.
Now he's taking me.

This trip has been in the works for a few years.
Doug has been reading and planning
and brushing up on his French.

The plane tickets have been purchased.
Arrangements are being made.
I needed this new little passport.

And it came in the mail on Monday.

So there you have it.
I get to be a world traveler again.
