Not Your Lemonade Stand

One of the advantages of living on a golf course (besides the beautiful view out the back window) is the fact that there are some lousy golfers who will hit their balls into your back yard. One of the advantages of having a big, black dog is that he keeps any golfers from trying to retrieve their balls. You put these facts together and you have a little side business selling golf balls!

All of our children, with various neighbor friends, have collected and sold golf balls. This can be a pretty good business. Friday Abbie realized it was the API golf tournament and she went outside and set up shop. Usually these golfers are generous, especially once they have a few drinks in them...

Abbie took out her book and devil sticks and water bottle and moved the bench over to the fence...

And waited...

And waited...

Then, after 15 minutes (if that long) she decided it was too hot and quit. This experience doesn't diminish the fact that she has been quite successful in the past. She just has issues with patience.

(The dirt scar is because the City put in new water pipes last fall and dug up along the edge of the golf course installing the huge, blue pipes. Hopefully it won't take the grass too long to fill back in.)
